Yes! We help people across the country based out of our Madison, WI, office. Our services can be delivered remotely via phone, video conferencing, and email, allowing for advocacy services regardless of location.

Yes. With your permission, we can communicate with your care team and then update you, your family, and your support team.

True North Patient Advocates™ will do the leg work to obtain your medical records, including test and scan results. We then create your personalized Medical Compass™, so you can accurately and easily share your medical information with your providers and your family or support team.

Meeting frequency and location is tailored to your needs — from occasional check-ins to regular, ongoing support. We can meet in-person, by phone, or virtually. In-person services are offered to clients in Madison, WI, and the surrounding community. In-person services outside of this area are available upon request and evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Virtual services are available locally and nationwide.

With our expertise in general surgery, emergency care, and critical care, we typically work with adults of all ages dealing with a wide variety of health issues. If your needs are outside of our scope, we are happy to introduce you to trusted advocates who specialize in those areas.

Yes! Our services can be requested directly by the client, a surrogate decision-maker, or by a family member concerned about a loved one’s care. Our allegiance remains with the client, even if services are paid for by a third party.

No, our services are not covered by insurance. By being an independent patient advocate, this ensures our allegiance is always directly to our clients and not a healthcare system or insurance company.

No, patient advocates provide guidance and coordination but do not diagnose, prescribe, or provide medical treatment. We use our knowledge and expertise to help you and your loved ones understand your health and navigate the healthcare system. If you have symptoms of any kind or think you may need medical care, please contact your local healthcare providers, go to the nearest emergency department, or call 911.

As independent patient advocates, we help you understand and navigate your care, coordinate care and communication, and help you make informed decisions.
